MrBeast Executive Sues Company Over Sexual Harassment and Job Loss

Lorrayne Mavromatis, who worked as an executive at Jimmy "MrBeast" Donaldson's media company, has filed a lawsuit in federal court claiming she faced sexual harassment, was fired unfairly, and was denied maternity leave rights. The complaint was filed on April 22, 2026 against MrBeastYouTube LLC in North Carolina.

According to the court documents, James Warren, who was the CEO and Donaldson's cousin, made unwanted sexual advances toward Mavromatis and created a hostile environment. The lawsuit says Warren told her she had a certain sexual appeal to Donaldson and forced her to meet with him alone at his home while making inappropriate comments about how she looked.

Mavromatis, a Brazilian-born content creator who helped run MrBeast's social media strategy, was hired in August 2022. She got two promotions within her first year and was one of only a few women in leadership roles at the company.

The Harassment Complaint and What Followed

In November 2023, Mavromatis reported the harassment to Sue Parisher, who ran the company's human resources department (and was Donaldson's mother). Within two months, the company said her complaint had no merit and dismissed it.

On the same day Mavromatis learned the company had rejected her complaint, she was demoted. Instead of her executive job, she was moved to managing social media for the company's merchandise division—a role she claims the company treated as unimportant.

Analysis: Companies that grow very fast sometimes neglect basic human resources systems while pouring resources into their core business. When workplace conflicts happen, this lack of planning often leads to problems exactly like this one.

Maternity Leave Violations

The lawsuit also claims the company violated federal laws protecting workers who take time off to have children. Mavromatis was the first employee at the company to ask for maternity leave. The company had no written maternity leave policy and did not explain her legal rights when she told management she was pregnant.

While on maternity leave, the company allegedly asked her to work and attend meetings. Three weeks after she returned, she was fired. The company said her job no longer existed, but also told her she was "too skilled" for the position they had demoted her into—which didn't make sense to her legal team.

The Employee Handbook

The lawsuit points to the company's employee handbook, called internally "The Beast Bible." This handbook told employees it was acceptable to act immaturely and included a section saying "No Does Not Mean No." It also said employees should do whatever it takes to help the "talent" on camera, even at personal cost, with no excuses allowed.

Most company handbooks focus on following rules, staying safe, and protecting workers. This one appeared to do the opposite.

A Pattern of Workplace Problems

Mavromatis's lawsuit is not the first legal action against MrBeast. In 2024, people who appeared on his reality show Beast Games sued, saying they were mistreated and faced sexual harassment. Ava Kris Tyson, a close associate, left the company in July 2024 after accusations of sexual misconduct surfaced.

In February 2024, Time magazine reported on the company culture based on interviews with employees, describing problems with bullying and toxicity. Multiple lawsuits and reports suggest this is not a single person's experience but a broader pattern in how the company treats workers.

Who Is Representing Her

Mavromatis is seeking money for emotional harm, lost wages, and other damages. The National Women's Law Center's TIME'S UP Legal Defense Fund provided support for her case, with Jennifer Mondino, a senior director at the organization, involved in the effort.

MrBeast itself filed its own lawsuit against a former employee in April 2025, showing there is ongoing legal conflict from multiple sides.

Worth flagging:

A common problem at fast-growing digital media companies is that leadership focuses all attention on building the product or content while ignoring basic systems for managing people fairly. This company appears to have built sophisticated equipment and processes for making videos but failed to develop proper human resources protections. That mismatch often creates exactly these kinds of legal problems.

As of now, MrBeast and its lawyers have not publicly responded to the allegations in the court filing.
